OGDEN — Dust off those cowboy boots because it’s time for Ogden Pioneer Days — Utah’s biggest and best statehood celebration. The month of July takes us back to the Old West, the days of the pioneers and brings the community together to create memories to last a lifetime. So, put on that cowboy hat and come along “For the Ride!”
“Ogden Pioneer Days is nearly an entire month of exciting events culminating in five nights of real rodeo under the stars on July 19-20-21, 23 and 24 at Ogden Pioneer Stadium,” said Craig Bielik, spokesperson for Ogden Pioneer Days.
The grand celebration kicks off on July 6th with the Traces of the West Art Stroll. Other events include the Utah Cowboy Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, Lindquist Family Fireworks, Cowboy Concert on the Plaza, Horse and Hitch Parade and Western Film, Rodeo for Special Kids, the Miss Rodeo Utah Pageant, the Children’s Parade, Ogden Pioneer Day Parade and the rodeo. The rodeo is one of the best in the west and has been ranked as one of the top five large outdoor rodeos in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. New this year at Ogden Pioneer Stadium are the best seats in the house … everywhere!
“Seats previously used in Vivint Smart Home Arena have been relocated to the stadium that hosts the biggest statehood celebration and rodeo in Utah,” Bielik said. “No more squeezing together on bleacher seats on the north side, rodeo fans in that section will get their own seat to enjoy our PRCA action with new, reserved chair back seating.”
Whether it’s mutton busting, bull riding or motorcycle flips and tricks, the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo is one you don’t want to miss. Tickets for the rodeo sell out quickly, so buy your tickets in advance. Rodeo tickets go on sale on June 23 and can be purchased online at ogdenpioneerdays.com, or at the ticket office — 1810 Washington Blvd., Ogden — or on the nights of the rodeo only at the Ogden Pioneer Stadium gate at 668 17th Street, Ogden, starting at 5:30 p.m.
